Another Friday with Storms & Wind

March has been an active month! Meteorologist Robert Gauthreaux did some digging and found that every Friday in March has had reported rainfall and gusty winds! Last week, we experienced flooding followed by damaging winds on Saturday. This week, we won’t get as much rain but we will still have the threat for damaging winds.

Need to Know

Rounds of storms will be around Friday morning. There will be some dry time during the day before another batch of storms are expected to develop towards the evening. There is an isolated threat for a severe storm with wind and hail the main threats. Friday night, around midnight, one more line of downpours and storms will push east with the cold front. Strong to damaging winds may accompany this line as well.

Saturday, rain will end quickly but the wind will be strong. From the morning until the early afternoon wind gusts could range from 40-50mph. This could create isolated power outages and tree damage. We also will see temperatures drop from the 50s in the morning to around 40 degrees by the end of the day. Cold air and thick clouds arrive through the day and a few flurries could fly in the evening.

March came in like a lion and will go out like a lion!
