GLENDALE, AZ — A pair of University of Cincinnati alums will play against one another in the Super Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Feb. 12, according to our news partner WCPO.

Travis and Jason Kelce will play in what has also been dubbed ‘the Kelce Bowl.’
The brothers were born in Westlake and played college football at the University of Cincinnati before both were drafted in the NFL. Travis was drafted in the third round in the 2013 NFL Draft while Jason was picked in the sixth round in 2011.
Both were star players for the Bearcats and played at UC at the same, WCPO said.
Jason supported Travis after he was suspended for the 2010 season when a drug test came back positive for marijuana.
“The entire offseason he was begging the coaches to give me another chance,” Travis Kelce said on the Shannon Sharpe podcast in 2021. “He set a list of things that I had to accomplish to be able to reap the benefit of playing football at University of Cincinnati. I’m forever thankful for that conversation. It took a lot of guts for him to be able to go in there and put his name on the line for myself, knowing that I threw this scholarship away and down the drain like it didn’t mean nothing. There was a moment where I had to grow up.”
Travis set a school record at UC for receiving yards as a tight end in the 2012, WCPO reported.

Now, Travis is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and Jason plays center for the Philadelphia Eagles. Their teams will play each other in the Super Bowl on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona.
The rivalry between the two brother is officially underway.
“Officially done being a Chiefs fan this season!!” Jason wrote on Twitter after the Chiefs-Bengals game.
“My mom can’t lose,” said Travis in a press conference.

Donna Kelce herself tweeted a photo of her wearing a unique football jersey, declaring she’d made it to Kansas City on Jan. 21, ahead of the Chiefs game against the Bengals. The photo of Donna in her hybrid jersey — half Eagles, half Chiefs — has since been passed around on social media when anyone asked which jersey the brothers’ mom would don for the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs earned their third Super Bowl trip in four years beating the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20, Sunday night in the AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Eagles beat San Francisco, 31-7, in the NFC Championship game Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Kansas City will play Philadelphia in the Super Bowl on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona at 6:30 p.m.
