Fact or fiction? You can balance an egg on end during vernal equinox

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

An old claim says that you can stand an egg on end ONLY during the vernal or autumnal equinox.

The vernal equinox marks the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. It is believed that an equal gravitational pull exists around the egg during an equinox, making it possible to balance it on end. This is correct — however, it is always correct!
