2 hospitalized after crash involving ODOT truck on I-675 in Centerville

CENTERVILLE — Two people were taken to local hospitals early this morning after their vehicles, including an Ohio Department of Transportation salt truck, were involved in a crash on Interstate 675 south at Wilmington Pike in Centerville.

The conditions of the drivers are not known at the time.

Investigators initially blocked two lanes of the highway, but all lanes were allowed to reopen around 8 a.m.

The accident occurred about 5:30 a.m. when the ODOT driver cut off a black sedan while attempted to make a u-turn in the emergency lanes. The sedan rear-ended the salt truck, a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The ODOT driver then drove behind the sedan to block it from oncoming traffic since it was dark and  the car was sitting in the middle of the highway, the trooper said.
