MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two iconic Memphis destinations were covered in graffiti early Monday morning.

People have spray-painted messages such as “BLM” and “No Justice No Peace” on the wall outside Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Some messages mention Breonna Taylor, a woman who was shot and killed inside her Louisville home by police.

According to WHBQ-TV, Graceland officials would not comment about the graffiti.

Another popular Memphis destination, the Levitt Shell open-air amphitheater where Elvis Presley held his first paid concert, was also vandalized that evening.

The executive director of Levitt Shell told Memphis Police that between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., the property was vandalized with vulgar graffiti, according to WHBQ-TV.

In order for the property to be repainted, it is estimated it will cost $150,000 due to it being a historical venue, according to Memphis police.
