Ross recalls candles due to combustion, injury risk

Officials on Friday announced that Ross Stores is recalling two Taylor and Finch six-wick scented candles after getting reports of the candles combusting, causing the glass containers to break.

One person suffered minor injuries from the candles, which were sold at Ross stores nationwide from August 2022 to October 2022, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The candles were sold in 44-ounce glass containers for $17 each.

Officials said two scents of Taylor and Finch candles were being recalled: the “Spiced Apple & Rosewood” candle, which was sold in a red container, and the “Cedarwood & Clove” candle, which was sold in a white container. The affected candles have SKU nos. 400244981194 or 400244981200 on the price labels at the bottom of the glass containers.

About 8,500 candles were sold across the U.S.

People who bought the recalled candles were advised to immediately stop using them and return them to a Ross store for a full refund.
