Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tennessee, recently received a donation from Nike to support the hospital’s front line workers.

The company gifted the hospital 300 pairs of Nike Air Zoom Pulse sneakers, WHBQ-TV reported.

The shoes are designed for easy cleaning and comfort for those long hours healthcare workers spend on their feet, according to a press release.

Other American cities to receive the footwear donation include Chicago, New York City and Los Angeles.

The donation was also given to hospitals abroad in Barcelona, Berlin, London, Milan and Paris.

Nike, which first released the shoes at the end of 2019, said the footwear was specifically designed to “meet the needs of our everyday heroes ... for their incredible physical and mental resilience in caring for our impacted communities around the world.”

The company, in partnership with Good360, donated it’s total inventory of the sneaker, about 32,500 pairs, to health care workers worldwide in May.

Nike said it has donated more $5.5 million worth of gear to health care workers across the globe, including upwards of 95,000 pairs of compression socks to front line workers in New York and Los Angeles, plus more than one thousand water bottles and headbands to workers in New York and Dri-FIT apparel to workers in Europe.
