AMC Theatres, the world’s largest cinema chain, is honoring the late singer by bringing the 1978 film back to the silver screen, Variety reported. The musical, which starred Newton-John as good girl Sandy Olsson with John Travolta’s greaser character of Danny Zuko, will play in 135 theaters nationwide beginning Friday, according to the entertainment news outlet.
Tickets will cost $5, with $1 from every ticket going to the movie chain’s charitable fund, AMC Cares, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Newton-John died Aug. 8 at the age of 73. A statement posted to Newton-John’s official Facebook page and attributed to her husband, John Easterling, did not provide an official cause of death but cited her 30-year public battle with breast cancer.
“To honor the late Olivia Newton-John: many of our U.S. theatres this weekend will show her classic 1978 hit movie Grease, again on the big screen,” AMC CEO Adam Aron tweeted. “An inexpensive $5 admission price, and through our charity AMC Cares we will donate $1 per sold ticket to breast cancer research.”
The singer had five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 during her career and reached the charts nearly 40 times during her career, Billboard reported.
The four-time Grammy Award winner made her Hot 100 debut with Bob Dylan’s “If Not for You” in 1971. From January 1970 until December 1984, Newton-John had 15 top-10 hits -- the most of any female artist during that time period, Billboard reported.
Her 1981 hit, “Physical,” spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Other hits that topped the charts included “You’re the One That I Want,” a duet with Travolta; Magic, from her film “Xanadu”; “Have You Never Been Mellow”; and “I Honestly Love You.”
