Firefighters are trying to bring a wildfire under control as about 90,000 residents in the Reno, Nevada, area are being advised to evacuate.
In addition to the residents who were told to evacuate, two hospitals also evacuated patients, CNN reported.
The fire has burned some homes, but winds could push the blaze closer to densely populated neighborhoods, The Associated Press reported.
The fire also forced the closure of schools in the county to allow for evacuations and first responders.
The Hawk Fire started Aug. 22. CNN reported it has burned about 15,000 acres so far.
Late Sunday, firefighters said it remained in the footprint while they put out hotspots, trying to prevent it from crossing a highway.
Officials said it was “human-caused” but did not say if it was intentionally set.
At least six people were hurt; three of the injured were first responders, the AP reported.
The Hawk Fire is the third fire in Reno in the past two weeks.
Officials said all three were caused by human activity.
