The White House confirmed the event will be held in September and the President is expected to deliver remarks.

An Intel spokesperson said details for the event will be released soon, WBNS reports.

The groundbreaking for the facility was delayed awaiting the passage of the CHIPS Act, which was approved by the Senate and House in July and signed by President Biden earlier this month.

Governor DeWine said at the announcement January the project would bring more than 20,000 jobs to the state.

To win the project, Ohio offered Intel roughly $2 billion in incentives, including a 30-year tax break, according to WBNS.

Intel has outlined $150 million in educational funding aimed at growing semiconductor industry regionally and nationally.
