High-speed pursuit that began in Clark County ends in Dayton; 1 in custody

SPRINGFIELD — One person has been arrested after leading state troopers on a lengthy, high-speed pursuit from starting from State Route 41 in Springfield and ended on North Main Street in Dayton, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The pursuit began after troopers tried to pull over a car for speeding around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near Love’s Truck Stop on Route 41 in Springfield, dispatchers said.

After the driver refused to stop, state troopers gave chase.

The pursuit continued west on Interstate 70 the driver exited onto state Route 4, with troopers reporting the suspect driving at speeds over 100 mph at times, according to initial reports.

The pursuit led onto southbound Interstate 75 before the suspect exited the highway on North Main Street in Dayton and then coming to a stop.
