Police look for driver of vehicle who struck person in Xenia

XENIA — Police are looking for the driver of the vehicle that struck a male in Xenia Monday night.

The incident was reported in the 900 block of Lexington Avenue around 11:45 p.m.

“I thought I heard someone yelling,” said Rachael Muncy, who lives in the area.

A 911 caller reported that a passenger exited what he believed was a black Dodge Avenger, but both the passenger and driver left the scene before police arrived.

The caller described the person hit by the car as a man in his late teens to early 20s.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition was not released.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Xenia Police Department.

Lexington Avenue was initially shut down during the investigation, but reopened to traffic before 3:30 a.m.
