Car crash causes flames, driver reported on fire

A crash on southbound Edwin C. Moses Blvd. at W. 3rd St. this Friday morning was reported just after 10 a.m.

The driver hit a pole, causing a fire in the vehicle. Dispatchers told crews the man was on fire and had rolled in the snow to put out the flames.

Our first responder checked with police and they determined he wasn’t on fire, although he was injured and found on the ground. He went to the hospital. He’ll be cited for failure to control.
