Xenia man run over by truck, seriously injured; driver arrested

A Xenia man was seriously injured after being run over by a truck in a parking lot on Oct. 25.

Matthew Moore and his wife talked to News Center 7’s Gabrielle Enright about the incident and the woman who police say hit him and drove away.

Moore was injured in the parking lot of the Moose Lodge on Cincinnati Avenue.

His wife, Missy, has been taking care of him since suffering serious injuries from the incident.

“I thought I was going to lose my husband … I did for two or three days,” she said. “(He has) two skull fractures, two active brain bleeds, broken bones in his face, separate ruptured eardrums, right eye won’t open, won’t move.”

According to police reports, Matthew Moore was hit by a truck driven by Pamela Mickle, 54.

“I remember going up underneath it, and then waking up in the ICU,” Moore said.

The report shows that Mickle took off and police found her at her home where they gave her a breathalyzer test and then booked her into jail.

She told police, “there was a guy in front of me and I hit him. I backed out and I was going to leave, and I hit him. He was screaming at me and I hit him, and I was freaked out and I came home,” court records show.

The Moores still want answers.

“We don’t have a why yet,” Missy Moore said.

“I understand accidents happen. I’m all about forgiving, but I remember her looking at me right in the face and hitting the gas,” Matthew Moore said.

Mickle has since posted bail, but online court records show she’s been charged with several crimes including aggravated vehicular assault and OVI.
