UPDATE @ 11:43 p.m.: The cause of the Medway house fire from which two women were rescued remains under investigation, said Lt. Scott McLin, Bethel Twp.-Clark County Fire Department.
The women were checked by medic units on scene and did not require a trip to a hospital, he said.
McLin said crews dispatched about 8:45 p.m. found one room at the rear of the home fully engulfed in flames, a second room partially burning and the women still inside with their two dogs.
The dogs were rescued as well, McLin said.
The Red Cross is helping the women and their dogs with lodging.
UPDATE @ 9:33 p.m.: Two women have been rescued from the Medway house fire on South Medway- New Carlisle Road.
They were taken from the a two-story farmhouse-style home by fire crews, said Bethel-Clark Twp. fire Lt. Scott McLin, noted the fire may have started in a rear extension.
Crews are continuing to put out the fire.
The conditions of the women are not immediately available.
A Bethel Twp. fire investigator is on scene.
FIRST REPORT
Crews are battling a house fire in the 2100 block of South Medway-New Carlisle Road in Medway.
We’re hearing that the house has been evacuated. There are no reports of injuries.
The dispatch was made about 8:45 p.m. and mutual aid from neighboring jurisdictions, including fire crews from Huber Heights and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, has been requested.
