Weekend Harrison Twp. shooting turns deadly; deputies serve search warrant

HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County — A man shot early Sunday morning in the area of North Dixie and Neva drives has died from his injuries, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph Nicholson, 43, of Dayton, was shot at the intersection around 2:15 a.m.

Nicholson was found in the area and transported to Kettering Health Dayton, however has since died.

The sheriff’s office served a search warrant Wednesday at a location in the 3200 block of Lodge Avenue, which is about a block away from where the shooting was reported. Inside the building was at least one motorcycle and neighbors said they believe the building is used as a clubhouse for a local motorcycle group.

“This incident has become a homicide investigation. Detectives continue to work diligently on this case,” a spokeswoman for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Additional details about the shooting and search warrant have not been released.
