Wayne High School Marching Band to hold a parade in a different neighborhood each weekend

HUBER HEIGHTS — Saturday morning marked the first of many parades to be held in surrounding Huber Heights communities by the Wayne High School Marching Band.

The band held a parade in the Valley Forge neighborhood at 10 a.m. Saturday.

They are planning to hold four more parades, one is set to take place each weekend for the next four weeks.

By putting the parades together the Wayne High School Marching Band is working to give its band more chances to perform and bring joy to the community while doing it.

Band leaders are asking community members to follow social distancing guidelines, wear a mask if you get out of your car, and sit and watch the parade instead of following the band on their route.

In the coming weeks, the Wayne Marching Band will hold parades at the following locations:

  • Sept. 12 Rushmore Neighborhood
  • Sept. 19 Wright Brothers Neighborhood
  • Sept. 26 Monticello Neighborhood
  • Oct. 3 Charles Huber Neighborhood

Each parade will begin at 10 a.m. and if weather causes the parade to be postponed the band will play in that neighborhood the following weekend in addition to the previously scheduled location.
