Volunteers to plant trees for families impacted by Memorial Day Tornadoes

MIAMI VALLEY — For the second year in a row, RETREET is coming to the Miami Valley.

The RETREET program works to replant trees lost during natural disasters.

On Oct. 22 the team will be in Miami Valley planting trees for families still recovering from the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes.

Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs has been involved with RETREET plantings.

To date, the program has replanted 6,301 native and noninvasive trees, according to a release.
