Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Harrison Twp. crash

UPDATE @ 8:59 a.m.:

A driver of a Pontiac Grand Prix was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries early Saturday following a crash at Riverside and Old Riverside drives, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The lone driver was pinned in the car after driving off the side of the road and striking two trees.

Harrison Twp. medics freed the individual from the car and took the driver to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Services Unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters removed one person trapped in a vehicle after it struck a tree this morning.

Harrison Twp. police and fire were dispatched around 2 a.m. to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Old Riverside Drive to a report that a Pontiac lost control and hit a tree, Montgomery County dispatch confirmed.

One person was injured and taken to a hospital by ambulance but CareFlight was put on standby, according to dispatch.

The extent of injuries are not yet known. Harrison Twp.
