Vandalia pool hosts ‘Soggy Doggy Dip’ event to mark last day to swim

VANDALIA — Those who didn’t get to celebrate National Dog Day got a second chance to do something fun with their furry friend today.

Cassel Hills Pool in Vandalia hosted the “Soggy Doggy Dip” on Monday to mark the last weekend the pool is open.

From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., dozens of pups got to splash around in the pool with their owners.

The pool released the following rules for anyone wanting to participate in the event:

  • Maximum of 2 dogs per owner.
  • All dogs must display a valid license and provide PROOF of current rabies vaccinations.
  • An adult must accompany their dogs at all times while they are out of the water.
  • The pool will be available for your four legged friends only.
  • Dogs must be on a 6′ leash when not in the water.
  • Owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
  • Unruly, worrisome to others, or aggressive dogs will not be permitted.
  • VPRD reserves the right to deny admission for any reason.

Monday was the official last day of the pool season at Cassel Hills Swimming Pool.
