University of Cincinnati waives application fee for first-generation students

CINCINNATI — University of Cincinnati (UC) will waive its application fee for first-generation students if they submit their application between November 7th to 11th.

The university is waiving its $50 application fee in celebration of National First-Generation College Student Day, held on November 8th.

The university also offers Stratford Heights’ 1MPACT House, a housing facility dedicated to creating a community for first-generation students enrolled in Gen-1, Jack Miner, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management informed News Center 7.

“Increasing first-generation enrollment is a core part of UC’s mission,” Miner stated.

“We have worked for the past few years to remove the barriers for going to college ranging from streamlining processes, to making college more affordable, to removing the ACT/SAT requirement,” Miner said. “The application fee waiver is one more opportunity to remove a barrier to success.”
