UPDATE @ 8:40 p.m. (Jan . 7): No one was injured in the Sunday night house fire on Shore Drive that resulted from a broken flue pipe, Battalion Chief John Evans said.
The residents had a fire going and the busted pipe caused the flames to rise, Evans said.
Four adults and a 3-month-old baby remain displaced from the rental property Monday night, according to Evans.
He estimated the fire damage at $5,000.
INITIAL STORY (Jan. 6)
A structure fire was reported in the 6000 block of Shore Drive that is now under control.
According to initial reports, the fire was coming from a chimney with extension to the attic. Three tanker trucks were requested.
Red Cross also was called to assist four adults and a 3-month-old baby, scanner traffic indicated.
It's unknown if anyone was injured or how the fire started.
