Two firefighters reportedly injured after fire at Dayton corn mill factory

DAYTON — Two firefighters were transported to a local hospital after reportedly suffering mild to moderate injuries following a fire at corn factory on Needmore Road Sunday night, according to emergency scanner traffic.

Crews responded to Cargill Corn Milling, Inc., located at 3201 Needmore Road, on multiple small fires reported just before 10 p.m.

Regional dispatch confirmed machinery was on fire inside the factory, but have since been extinguished by firefighters.

No other details were immediately available.

This incident occurred after a fire inside a large, empty oil tank was reported at the facility last week, prompting crews to respond.

Firefighters reportedly used foam to fight the oil tank blaze, and no injures were reported.
