The train had 107 cars and was located on private property in Portsmouth, Scioto County.

The three cars that overturned were carrying approximately 221,000 lbs of soybeans each, according to Mullins.

No hazardous materials were involved and there is no threat to the public.

No injuries were reported in this derailment.

Officials believe the derailment is weather-related due to the rails breaking after freezing and thawing.

Mullins said the derailment is believed to have been caused by a rail that broke due to “the recent freezing and thawing weather.”

Crews are expected to have the site cleaned up by Tuesday.
