Sugarcreek Township wants your help to clean up its roadways

GREENE COUNTY — Sugarcreek Township is looking for teams of people to help clean up its community.

The second annual “Community Clean-Up Day” will take place on April 9.

Organizers told News Center 7 that last year volunteers picked up 400 pounds of trash from the major corridors of the community.

This year, they’re hoping even more people will sign up to adopt an area.

“We’re picking main routes where the trash really does collect over the winter so that when people drive through the township, they’ll get to experience the true beauty we have to offer,” Cara Tilford, assistant township administrator said.

Groups will be given trash bags, gloves, a t-shirt and hand sanitizer.

Bags of litter should be securely tied closed and visible on the side of the roadway so the township’s service department can pick them up.

Groups can pick up their supplies from April 4-8 during business hours at the Sugarcreek Township Administration Building on Ferry Road.
