Construction on the Darke County ODOT Highway Garage, at U.S. 127 and state Route 49, was completed this spring, county commissioners said.
This new garage is one of the first buildings built on the new industrial park development.
One of the features of the ODOT facility is a drive-through salt barn -- the first of its kind in Ohio.
The county will take over the old ODOT garage for use as a vehicle service facility for county, police and emergency management agency vehicles.
County officials are trying to promote the availability of the industrial land for sale.
According to county officials, there are about 60 acres in the park remaining to be sold. County officials hope the land sales to new industry will bring back jobs to the area.
