GERMAN TWP., Clark County — A Springfield man is dead after a motorcycle crash was discovered early Thursday morning in German Twp., Clark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Brandon Sconfienza, 26, was identified as the man killed in the crash, which was found on Upper Valley Pike near Ironwood Drive around 5:15 a.m. Thursday, state troopers said in a media release.
A preliminary investigation found the motorcycle Sconfienza was operating went off the right side of the road and overturned several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sconfienza was not wearing a helmet and excessive speed and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the crash. State troopers are also working to determine the exact time of the crash.
State troopers reported this was the 17th deadly crash in Clark County in 2020.
