Wilmington man accused of promising fencing, and not delivering

A Wilmington man has been indicted on felony charges accusing him of taking at least $48,000 from consumers for fence installations he never provided, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s office announced Monday.

Phillip R. Sholler Jr., 41, was indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on the following charges:

  • Theft from the elderly (6 counts)
  • Theft (6 counts)

Sholler, who conducted business as Sholler Fence LLC, is accused of stealing approximately $48,000 from six homeowners between July and December 2017.

According to the Ohio Attorney General’s Economic Crimes Unit and Evendale police, Sholler took cash and checks but never delivered materials or installed fencing.

An attorney with the economic crimes unit has been appointed special prosecutor by the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.
