Dayton shopping center stores burglarized, damaged

Police are searching for a male they said tried to break into one store at the Pinewood Plaza Shopping Center and also could have burglarized another there.

Police said that just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, the male threw a rock at front door of the Shoe Show, 1038 S. Smithville Road, but did not break the glass.

The male, police said, then used his shoulder to try and break the glass. When that didn’t work, he left.

The attempt caused an estimated $1,000 in damage, according to the police incident report.
