Gunshots were fired from a moving vehicle on North Gettysburg Avenue late Thursday afternoon and police are looking for the shooter and the driver, according to a Dayton police incident report.
Residents in the 2700 block of North Gettysburg Avenue told police they saw someone standing in the sunroof of a black Chrysler 300, firing shots into the air, as the car moved down the street. That was just after 5:30 p.m., according to the report.
Police dispatched to the area said they saw the suspect vehicle drive by and tried to catch up to it, but lost sight of it in the area of West Hillcrest Avenue.
Montgomery County Regional Dispatch officers also said the vehicle was a black Chrysler 300 with chrome wheels occupied by three males -- two with pistols -- and at least one of whom was firing into the air.
No one was hit by the gunfire, according to the report. Officers found as many as three shell casings near the scene.
