A car fire on I-70 led to a slow down of traffic which led to the driver of a van running into rear of a box truck. The van driver was cut out of the vehicle and transported by CarFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

UPDATE @ 12:40 p.m.:

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 have reopened and only one westbound lane remains blocked after an earlier crash in Clark County.

State troopers said the crash was caused by a backup that formed due to a vehicle fire near the I-70 west exit to Ohio 72, dispatched around 11 a.m.

Around 11:30 a.m., the van slammed into the back of a Snap-On tools truck that was slowing down for the backup caused by the fire, investigators said.

The driver of the van was trapped in their vehicle as a result of the crash. They were extricated and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by a medical helicopter but their condition wasn’t available.

The far left lane remains the only lane blocked on I-70 west.

UPDATE @ 11:55 a.m.:

Emergency crews have now blocked both directions of Interstate 70, west of the Ohio 41 exit, following a serious crash.
