Santa Claus visits babies at Miami Valley Hospital NICU

Santa Claus has made another yearly visit to the babies at the Miami Valley Hospital NICU tonight.

The early holiday visit started at 5:30 p.m. at the Berry Women’s Center Building.

The NICU elves were also there to take a photo of Santa with all 47 babies who wore knitted hats made by the staff. The photos were gifts to the parents.

Over the years, Santa’s visits have been a positive experience for families as they celebrate their babies first Christmas.

One family from Wapakoneta said they tried for a while before getting pregnant with triplets.

They lost one baby in utero, then their second baby passed away two weeks after being born.

Devin and Amanda Shobe said they’re cherishing the holidays more than ever this year.

“We never really knew if we would get to have this moment. So this moment for us is a miracle definitely. We are very, very grateful and blessed,” said Shobe.

Little Elliot was born three months early and weighed only two pounds.
