SIDNEY — UPDATE @ 11 a.m.
A man scraping frost off his car windows and the driver of the car that hit him were both flown by medical helicopter after a crash in Sidney Thursday morning, according to police.
Randall S. Frisby, 48, identified as the pedestrian hit in the crash, and Devon Parsley, 18, identified by police as the driver, were both flown to Miami Valley Hospital after the crash, Sidney police Sgt. Jeremy Lorenzo said in a media release.
The conditions of both Frisby and Parsley are unknown, according to police.
The crash was reported in the area of St. Mary’s Avenue and Park Street around 6:40 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found the car, driven by Parsley, was traveling south on St. Mary’s Avenue and crossed over the center line into the northbound lanes. The car hit Frisby and his vehicle, causing severe damage to both vehicles, police said.
Multiple other occupants inside the vehicle Parley was driving were not injured in the crash.
Illegal drugs are being investigated as a possible factor in the crash, Lorenzo said.
