Hazmat crews contain large fuel spill after crash in Butler Twp.

BUTLER TWP. — UPDATE @ 9:20 a.m.: 

Hazmat and fire crews were able to contain about 40 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled after a crash on Wyse Road in Butler Twp. Thursday morning.

Additional crews from Sandy’s Towing have been requested to help in the cleanup, according to state troopers. Investigators estimate cleanup will be completed around 11 a.m.

Troopers said the Environmental Protection Agency was notified of the spill.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Vandalia and Butler fire crews on scene of a car vs. semi at Wise and 75 with a large diesel spill. There are no injuries. Intersection will be closed 1-1.5 hours while cleanup occurs.

FIRST REPORT

Hazmat crews have been requested following a crash on Wyse Road in Butler Twp. Thursday morning.

The crash was reported on Wyse Road at the Interstate 75 exit ramp around 8:20 a.m. according to initial reports.

Scanner traffic indicates Hazmat crews were requested due to around 100 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled in the crash.

No injuries have been initially reported.
