Reward offered for missing guest book of Harrison Twp. stabbing victim

Harrison Twp. family searching for missing guest book

The family of Amber Hoover, who was found with multiple stab wounds behind a Harrison Twp. home last week, are offering a reward for anyone with information on the whereabouts of the guest book that is missing from her funeral.

RELATED: No arrest in fatal stabbing of woman found behind Harrison Twp. home

Hoover, 42, was found stabbed behind a residence on Embury Park Road on June 10, and was pronounced dead at Grandview Medical Center.  The coroner's office ruled the incident a homicide and said Hoover died of multiple stab wounds.

Hoover’s mother and daughter, who are still mourning the loss, are now focused on finding the missing guest book.

“We absolutely don’t care who has it or why you have it”, said Kelsey Jewett, Hoover’s daughter. “If you have it, we just want it back”.

They are not accusing anyone of stealing the book and are aware it could have simply been misplaced, as there were plenty of visitors at Hoover’s funeral last week.

“That’s our one last memory to speak of Amber”, said Theresa Jones, Hoover’s mother.

According to a Montgomery County Sheriff's incident report, deputies found two witnesses and a possible suspect when her body was found.

Sheriff's investigators know who fatally stabbed Hoover, but they have not arrested the person.

Anyone willing to come forward with the guest book are urged to contact the family directly or the funeral home.

Fire at Greene County home rekindles, displacing family

Published: Friday, June 22, 2018 @ 2:10 AM
Updated: Friday, June 22, 2018 @ 3:47 AM

A family is displaced after a fire rekindled in Greene County early Friday morning.

Fire crews originally responded to the house in the 500 block of Golden Willow Court Thursday afternoon for a fire in an upstairs bathroom. The fire was quickly knocked down, said Miami Twp. Fire Chief Colin Altman.

Around 2 a.m. Friday, crews were called back out to the house when the fire rekindled.

“At this point we’re suspecting some of the insulation kept the heat in, and fans stirred it up and got the fire going,” Altman said.
The fire was through the roof directly above the bathroom when crews arrived. The fire was again knocked down quickly, he said.

The fire was contained to the second floor, but the family is displaced.

No one was injured.
