Power restored at Fifth Third Field; Outage traced to breaker

UPDATE @ 7:34 p.m.: The Fifth Third Field power outage has been traced to a breaker, which for some reason was opened, DP&L spokesman Tom Tatham said.

DP&L crews worked with stadium facilities crews to close the breaker.

Power at the stadium was restored about 6:30 p.m., he said.

UPDATE @ 6:38 p.m.

The electrical service at Fifth Third Field has been restored, according to Dayton Dragons media spokesman Tom Nichols.

Tonight's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

DP&L spokesman Tom Tatham said there are DP&L crews at the ballpark, trying to trace the source of the outage.

He said as far as DP&L is aware, the Dayton Dragon ball club is the only customer affected by the outage. Club officials called in the outage about 5:45 p.m.

A power outage in downtown Dayton is affecting Fifth Third Field and is delaying the start of tonight’s game.

The outage was reported sometime after 6 p.m. and Dayton Power & Light officials have told officials with the ball club there are other outages affecting downtown.

The cause of the outage has not been pinpointed.
