UPDATE @ 11:57 a.m. (July 5):

A 36-year-old man was taken to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening after a shooting in Dayton Friday morning.

Miami Valley Hospital did not release Michael Crockett’s condition, but confirmed that he is a patient there.

The shooting was reported around 3 a.m. in the area of West Third Street and Crown Avenue.

Emergency scanner traffic indicates the victim was shot in the stomach and a possible suspect vehicle fled the scene.

In a 911 obtained by this news organization, the caller told dispatchers the victim was shot multiple times by someone in another vehicle.

“He’s shot in the stomach...and in the leg too”, the caller said. “He’s spitting up blood.”

“They shot out a car. It was a white car,” dispatchers were told. “They shot him on Third and went down Crown.”

Our crew on scene reports a car crashed into pole near the shooting scene. The 911 caller also stated the victim’s car crashed.
