Female hospitalized after being shot at Springfield club

SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE @ 4:45 p.m.:

Police are investigating after a female was shot at a Springfield club Thursday night.

Springfield Police were called to the 425 Club on Harrison Street around 9:30 p.m. after getting reports of a shooting.

When they got on scene, officers found a female who had been in the arm and the head.

The female was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center before being flown to Miami Valley Hospital, according to Springfield Police Sgt. James Byron told News Center 7. Her injuries were described as serious, but non-life threatening.

Police on scene found a 9mm casing and the bullet next to where the victim had been sitting, according to an incident report.

A witness told police they saw a man dressed in all black with a hood open the door to the club and shoot at the victim twice before getting in a black truck and driving away from the scene, according to the report.
