In Dayton, Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County is partnering with the Residence Park Neighborhood Association (RPNA) and CareSource to host its event from 4 to 8 p.m. at Residence Park.

The Dayton event will include free food and music with the police department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The 3DI Drill, Drum and Dance Team will make an appearance.

The event is intended to promote neighborhood camaraderie, enhance neighbor-law enforcement relations and improve safety, according to the release.

"A key part of living a healthy life is having a safe place to live,” said Jeff Cooper, PHDMC health commissioner. “Exposure to crime and violence can increase the risk of smoking, alcohol and drug abuse; mental illness, anxiety disorders and chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes.”
