Life Connection Ohio teamed up with Community Tissue Services and Lions Eye Banks for the events.

The goal is to stomp out the waiting list of people waiting to receive life-saving organs and honor those who gave the gift of life every step of the way.

“It’s all about spreading that important message of organ, eye, and tissue donation,” said Stephanie Burianek, Community Outreach Coordinator with Life Connection of Ohio. “(Just) getting it out there about how important that is.”

Just under 500 people ran in Saturday’s race which included an in-person 5K run and walk, a virtual 5K run and walk, and a Kids’ Fun Run.
