TROY — The City of Troy is announcing some changes to parking around the downtown area as it prepares for a paving project.
The city is paving South Market Street from Franklin Street to Grant Street. Due to that project, South Market Street will be unavailable for daytime parking between Franklin Street and Grant Street this week.

The project begins today and will include grinding the top layer of asphalt and then placing a new layer of asphalt down.
The project is expected to be completed within two weeks, city officials said on a social media post.
“This resurfacing programs allows the City to improve the striping of the street to a three-lane layout beginning at the Market-Market five-way intersection. Once the project is completed, parking spaces will reopen, but there will be a change in the traffic pattern,” the post said.
