Sheriff’s office IDs passenger ejected, killed in crash on I-70 in Wayne County, Indiana

WAYNE COUNTY, Indiana — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal crash in Wayne County, Indiana that happened on Sunday afternoon.

A back seat passenger of a car was ejected and killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-70 west of Richmond, according to the Wayne County, Indiana Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported in the westbound lanes of I-70, about a mile before the North Centerville Road exit around 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Wayne County Sheriff Randy Retter said in a media release Monday morning.

A preliminary investigation by the sheriff’s office found a black Audi car passed a car and in the process of returning into a lane lost control. The car hit the cable barrier in the median, overturned, and rolled multiple times as it crossed the eastbound lanes of I-70.

A passenger sitting in the back seat was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, Retter said. The the sheriff’s office identified the victim Natasha D. Padrone, age 21, with a listed address in Las Vegas, Nevada,

Three other people inside the car were not injured in the crash.

Retter said the four people in the car were on a business trip and were from out of state. He did not identify the state they were traveling from.
