OSHP to increase patrols for speed, safety belt, OVI enforcement

OHIO — Get ready to see more state troopers on Interstate 75.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be working together with members of the 6-State Trooper Project to enforce speed, safety belts, and OVI on I-75, starting at 12:01a.m., Feb. 18 through 11:59 p.m. Feb. 20,m according to a news release.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership that focuses on providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and information sharing, according to the release.

The campaign will include Michigan State Police, Kentucky State Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to the release, last year, the 6-State Trooper Project cited 748 drivers for speed violations, 81 drivers for safety belts and 24 drivers with OVI.
