UPDATE @ 7:01 p.m.: Moraine police said older man hit the gas instead of the brakes, sending a sedan into a section of glass windows near a main entrance of the Frisch's Big Boy on South Dixie Drive.
A family sitting where the car crashed into the restaurant was physically pushed by the impact, but none of them was injured, police said.
The older man at the wheel was not injured. Family members took him from the scene.
The officer said that instead of pursuing charges or issuing a citation, police suggested that the man be recertified to be able to handle a motor vehicle.
FIRST REPORT
A vehicle has rammed the Frisch’s Big Boy Restaurant, in the 4800 block of South Dixie Drive, in Moraine and rescuers are checking for injuries.
The incident was dispatched about 6:30 p.m.
An older man drove through the glass front of the restaurant and there appears to be heavy damage, according to a worker there who said the restaurant remains open.
The worker also said that apparently no one has been injured.
