Ohio State Highway Patrol introduces portable scale truck

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is debuting a new patrol vehicle.

Troopers showed off the new portable scale truck on social media Friday.

Troopers said the truck will carry portable scales for the weighing commercial vehicles at locations where stationary platforms are not available.

The trucks, troopers said, are meant to help tackle overweight violations across the state.

According to a social media post, overweight violations can cause crashes and roadway damage.
