MAHONING COUNTY — Federal authorities have charged a couple from Ohio with involuntary manslaughter in connection to a 2022 death, according to CBS news affiliate WOIO.

Kodi Glenn Simon from Cleveland and Kateri Ann Simon from Avon Lake, caused the death of another person while at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, WOIO says.

If convicted, the couple could face eight years in federal prison, according to WOIO.
Authorities did not identify the victim, according to WOIO. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service handled the investigation.
Court records show the Simons were arrested Jan. 16 in Mahoning County, WOIO says.
Both Kodi and Kateri were released from jail, according to WOIO.
