Officials are warning Preble County residents of a possible scam involving the selling of Omaha Steaks door-to-door.
A resident reported that on Tuesday evening, a woman came to their door and attempted to sell Omaha Steaks. The resident said the woman didn't have any information with her and was aggressive in her sales tactics.
Omaha Steaks confirmed to the sheriff's office that the business never conducts door-to-door sales.
The woman attempting to sell the steaks is described as caucasian with blond hair. She was a passenger in a black Chevrolet Equinox.
The sheriff's office is reminding residents to use caution when dealing with door-to-door sales people, and that legitimate employees will carry and have visible organizational identification with contact information. Anyone who notices suspicious activity is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
