FAIRBORN — UPDATE @ 5:35 A.M.
Several people were moved after a laundry room fire in Fairborn early Friday.

Fairborn firefighters responded to the Wright Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in the 800 block of West Yellow Springs-Fairfield Road on a reported fire.

Video and photos showed several fire trucks and police cruisers at the scene.
Fairborn Fire Chief Ryan Williams told News Center 7’s Gabrielle Enright that they moved several nursing home patients.
“The first thing we think when we hear a fire come in is the potential for loss of life or sufficient injury,” he said. “So, by moving people to unaffected areas and past the fire doors, all those suppression features- sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, and fire doors- they all did what they were supposed to do.
Williams said that 100 people were in the nursing home when the fire happened.
They evacuated between 25 and 30 people.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
