OAKWOOD — Oakwood police have identified the person believed to be responsible for spray painting Oakwood High School with a vulgar message about remote learning, investigators said Wednesday.
“F*** Virtual Learning” was discovered on the door at the high school Friday and cleaning crews removed the spray paint. Just a few feet away on the sidewalk, someone also painted “Please Teach Us Oakwood”

“An Oakwood Public Safety Officer, while on routine patrol, discovered graffiti painted on the Oakwood High School gym entrance doors and the sidewalk leading up to the entrance,” said Oakwood Public Safety Chief Alan Hill.
The officer discovered the vandalism around 1:30 a.m.
Oakwood has been doing virtual learning since students returned from holiday break and are scheduled to return to in-person half-day instruction on Jan. 19.
““Our Board of Education, District administration and staff members condemn all acts of vandalism,” said Oakwood Schools Superintendent Kyle Ramey. “We will address this situation with students and staff to reinforce these actions are not appropriate. We recognize off-site instruction is not the preferred mode of education for everyone but we believe operating remotely temporarily is in the best interest of our students, staff and community.”
An Oakwood police incident report shows that charges in the case could be a felony.
Police did not release the name of the suspect, since they are not formally charged at this time.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Oakwood Public Safety Department at (937) 298-2122.
