NWS confirms 5 additional tornadoes hit Miami Valley early Saturday

MIAMI VALLEY — The National Weather Service has confirmed an additional five tornadoes touched down in the Miami Valley early Saturday.

Here is a timeline of when the tornadoes hit and their path according to the National Weather Service:

  • At 12:45 a.m. an EF0 tornado hit north of St. Mary’s in Auglaize County. The tornado likely began near Koenig and Noble Roads where barn and tree damage was noted. Winds were reported up to 85 miles per hour at their peak.
  • At 12:45 a.m. an EF0 tornado first touched down near Indian Trail Road and SR-716 in Minster, last known damage is near Bensman Road. The estimated maximum wind speed is 80 miles per hour. The tornado lasted eight minutes.

  • At 1:01 a.m. near Troy, an EF0 tornado touched down starting near Pemberton Road causing significant barn damage and continuing through SR-41. The tornado lasted around 13 minutes with a maximum wind speed of 85 miles per hour.
  • At 1:02 am. an EF0 tornado touched down near Pleasent Hill in Miami County. Its path began south of West Sugar Grove Circle Hill Road and ended near Mowry Road, lasting around four minutes. Maximum wind speeds were reported at 80 miles per hour, according to the NWS.
  • At 1:02 a.m. an EF0 touched down west of West Milton. It first touched down near the intersection of Red River West Grove and Fournamn Road. Wind speeds reached their peak at 80 miles per hour, it lasted five minutes.

No injuries or deaths were reported in any of the five tornadoes.
