Night skies will be partly to mostly cloudy

UPDATE @4:15 p.m. It will still be windy at times into the early evening, and a few passing sprinkles are possible across the north before 8 or 9 p.m., when winds will subside, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy the rest of the night.

"It will be chilly with lows in the upper 40s, but clouds will actually help to insulate a bit and keep us from falling further into the 40s," Vrydaghs said.

Monday: Morning clouds will gradually decrease into the afternoon. Depending on how long the clouds stick around, it will directly affect afternoon highs. It will be much coller than normal with temperatures around 60 degrees.

Monday night it officially becomes fall at 10:29 p.m., and to go along with that it will likely be the coldest night all week, Vrydaghs said. With clear skies and light winds, temperatures will plummet into the low 40s.

"This is not record-breaking, but still quite chilly for this time of year," Vrydaghs said. "Also, a few areas of spotty fog cannot be ruled out."

Tuesday: A very chilly, but dry start to the day is expected. Temperatures will eventually reach highs around 70 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

Wednesday: High pressure continues to deliver very dry and tranquil weather. Sunny skies and closer to normal highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Computer models also are indicating a try trend that may continue through next weekend, Vrydaghs said.
